On Windows operating systems (except NT), My Documents is the name of a special folder on the computer's hard drive that is commonly used to store a user's documents, music, pictures, downloads, and other files. The following list shows where the Documents folder is stored by default, as it varies by operating system (substitute [user name] with the name you use to log into your computer): - On Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003:
